Anyone know how to get rid of a fox?

So we apparently have a fox living under our deck. We knew something was under there and called our pest guy to come and take a look. He determined it was a fox and said he would be back to trap it for us. I thought, "Great, problem almost solved." Well, he called back and said that his boss would prefer if we call animal control instead. Through AC, Paul spoke to a wildlife trapper for the county and he said we had two options: We could do the following to get it to go away or he can come out and trap it for us. Oh and btw, they will euthanize it if they trap it. The ways we could get it to go away were to stick moth balls in the area and or spray with ammonia. I guess these things will make the fox move out. They think it could be a mother with cubs.

We will definitely try the moth balls and ammonia but man, I thought someone could trap it and let it go in a field. I'll pay them!!!!! I don't want the poor thing to have to die. Anyone have any ideas?

Father's Day 2011

We went to a River Cats game yesterday. I like going to baseball games and this was our first time there. The stadium is really nice and there is a lot of food. Yum! As all of you know, I am extremely fair skinned. There was no break from the sun. As a 35 week pregnant chick, I was really hot and melting. We lasted until the 8th inning but then decided to go. Paul tells me that he had a really fun day. I hope that he did. Happy Father's Day Pauly, your girls love you lots!

Fun in the sprinkler

I bought Adrienne and sprinkler last week. I wasn't sure if she would like the water squirting everywhere. She ended up loving it. She was in Alabama with Paul a couple of weeks ago and was loving the fountains that shoot from the ground. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that she loved her crazy caterpillar sprinkler. She figured out really quickly that she could grab the antennas and point them towards you. It was a lot of fun.

"People let me tell you about my best friend"

I needed to update with something a little light hearted. Since Paul and Adrienne are gone this week, Nelly and I are spending quality time together. I have been letting her sleep on the bed (which I never do) and we just got back from a walk. She is a sweet dog and I am glad she is here to keep me company. I wanted to take a picture of her smiling which she does from time to time, but she was not having it this morning. Most of you know Nelly as our little spaz dog, and that is true, but she has been so sweet to me. Nelly, you are such a good girl. You guard our house, you always lay at my side, you pick up Adrienne's food off of the floor (sorry Amy), you operate as our door bell, you create a nice layer of fuzz on the floor, and so many other fabulous things.

Goodbye Sam

It is so painful to have to write this entry. We ended up putting Sam down this morning. Paul and I knew it was coming soon but it all of the sudden happened today. I have had him for 13 years, I picked him out of a litter at 6 weeks old. He has been everywhere with me. He has moved to all of the places I have lived and been through anything I have been through.
I got Sam at a time that I was heartbroken. A new puppy to help me feel better. The hard part is, he leaves me and I feel heartbroken again. Paul and I joked for years that he was a pain in our rears but the truth is he was so special to us. We would do anything for that dog. He had better healthcare than some people do. He was demanding, stubborn, gassy, expensive, high maintenance, but the sweetest boy in the whole world. He was great with kids and loved every person that would give him a pet (or some food.) I am so sad that Adrienne and our baby boy will not be able to grow up with him. I know that he is in a better place now but it doesn't make losing him any easier. We love you Sam and will miss you forever!
