Fall down and go boom!

Yesterday was an interesting day. Paul fell in the gym locker room and split his forehead open. The people at the gym helped him and he seemed fine (other than the 2 1/2 inch split in his head.) He called me to come and pick him up and we would probably need to go to Kaiser. As we left the gym Paul was talking to me and was just fine. He got quiet and as I looked over, he was falling asleep in his seat. I yelled at him that he needed to stay awake. It was then that I realized, I was not driving him the entire 30 minutes to Kaiser. There was a Fire Station right in front of us so Paul said I better pull in. I ran up to the back door and could barely get a word out (the reality of the situation caught up to me.) They were great, they took care of him, put him on a board took his vitals and called an ambulance. It was pretty scary, I must say. Luckily, the paramedics from the ambulance got there and determined that he did not need to go to a trauma unit and he could go to Kaiser. Paul is just fine. He got 7 stitches in his forehead. I was pretty worried about him but he was in good hands. Thank you to the Folsom Fire Department for helping me when I spazzed out at your station (I do not do well in panicked moments.) Love you Paul!

Oh man those banana puffs are strong!

I just started giving Adrienne those little Gerber puff snacks the other day. Her face is too funny. Thought I would get some pictures of it. I have to say I couldn't quite get her best faces on camera. She was even funnier off camera.

Happy Mother's Day/ Lake Clementine

My very first Mother's Day this year and I had to travel all day for work. Boo hoo for me. Okay enough of that not so sob story. We celebrated the day on Saturday. We went for a hike to Lake Clementine near Auburn. Another day of great weather and beautiful scenery. The dam / waterfall was amazing. You had to be there to hear it and feel the mist from it. I highly recommend this one to anyone in the area. Enjoy some of our pictures (the good ones are from Paul of course, the not so good ones, that would be me!)
I also played beauty parlor with Adrienne. Her hair is getting a little longer and I loved putting clips in it. Can't wait till it really gets long. I love having a little girl!

Marshall Gold Discovery State Park

As most of you know by now, Paul and I are on a mission to lose weight. We have not really be hitting the gym (even thought we pay for it each month, gasp), we have been eating right and getting out and moving a lot more. This has led to a new discovery of hiking. Yep, Paul and I have joined the hippies and started to hike! This has been pretty fun actually, we bought one of those baby back packs for Adrienne and she loves it. My only fear is the constant warnings of mountain lions and rattle snakes. We have only seen one baby rattle snake so far. Let's hope it was the last one we ever see.
Anyhoo, we made our way over to Marshall Gold Discovery State Park in Coloma yesterday. Only 30 minutes from our house. This is where the first fleck of gold was discovered in California. James Marshall was building a sawmill for John Sutter in 1848 along the American River and discovered the shining flecks of gold. He and Sutter were going to keep it a secret but word got out and that led to the huge Gold Rush that we all know about. It was kind of neat to see where it all started. We did a pretty good hike and saw a few historic sites. No mountain lions or rattle snakes were seen (phew!!!!) Here are some pictures from our day.
