Clarksville Day

There is an area in southern El Dorado Hills called Clarksville.  It was a gold mining settlement in the late 1800's.  It is basically known as a little ghost town now a-days.  Someone owns all of the property today and 6 years ago, they got together with some volunteers to open it up.  Once a year, they host Clarksville Day.  Volunteers dress in period clothing, play music, lot's of horses and stuff like that.  We had a lot of fun.  Adrienne was dancing to the music, I wish I could have snapped some pictures of her.

Adrienne loved the music and the horses.

Mr. Matthew's first time in the backpack.  He was a happy camper.

Kenny fam leaving the fun.

Later that day, Adrienne and Daddy cooking in the kitchen.

Walt Disney World

My friend Dani drove over to hang with us for the evening.  Adrienne is her buddy!

Mr. M on the Carousel.

Getting ready to ride Dumbo.  Adrienne did not like it for the 3rd time.  You would think Mom and Dad would learn!

Daddy's little princess.  No, I did not take this picture.  I wasn't even with them.

Wow, what an weird outfit you ask?  Those are Matthew's shorts.  She went through 2 outfits that night and fit into her 9 mo old brother's shorts!

Paul will kill me for posting this pic.

Classic family picture on Main Street.

Eyore was trying to get the strap away from Matthew.  It was all he was intersted in.

First character for dinner and she was in heaven.

Awe, Daddy and Matthew and the Crystal Palace.

This one might be my favorite.  Adrienne was so patient for each of the Pooh characters to come around.

At the Wilderness Lodge, she loved running over this bridge repeatedly.

Whispering Canyon restaurant.  She participated in the kid functions!!!!!

Mama hiding her "all you can eat" milkshake from A.  I shared with her after dinner.

Mr. M loved the characters too.

He is "The Man" to A.  No one else can compare.

Adrienne and Daddy looking at the bunny at Epcot.

She just says "Yippee!" the whole time on this ride.

A and Papa leaving the Polynesian hotel.

Hugging Donald in Frontierland.

Our ride for the week.

Sitting with Goofy on Main Street.

Paul, the kids and I just got back from a week in Disney World yesterday.  It was absolutely so much fun.  Adrienne had a great time and Matthew had fun and was such a trooper the entire time.  Miss Adrienne is still a bit timid with the rides, she doesn't like Dumbo because it goes high in the air.  It's a Small World and the Fantasyland Carousel are her absolute faves.  A new thing for this trip is the characters.  Adrienne LOVES them.  She can't stop hugging them.  Matthew likes them too.  I was absolutely petrified of them as a kid, so this is such a relief to Paul and me.  Paul's parents joined us for the weekend and the kids were in heaven.  4 people paying all attention to them.  We stayed at the Sheraton Vistana resort just outside the Disney property in a 2 bedroom condo.  It was so great, I will always stay in that sort of resort at WDW in the future.  We had so much space and it made life so convenient while we were there.  I wasn't ready to leave.  Adrienne keeps saying the same thing over and over again......."I have to go to Disneyland."

First Haircut

Adrienne has her Daddy's hair.  It is crazy and growing in all different directions.  Well, imagine if Paul's hair was longer.  I had a hair appointment today so I had Paul bring Adrienne in to get hers done as well.  I wanted her to get a little trim and also, I wanted to learn what product to put in her hair.  She was so cute.  In true Adrienne fashion, she wanted nothing to do with Katie who was cutting her hair.  She just looked sad during the whole process.  But..... it turned out really cute.  She just trimmed a little causing it to bring life to her curls and she added some light product too which was really cute.  I need to get an after picture but here are the pics while she was getting it done.

Oooooooo new car part 2........yep again!

O.k., no we didn't go out and decide to get another car just for the fun of it.  Nearly 2 weeks ago we were in an accident.  A girl rear ended us, pushing us into the truck in front of us.  Luckily we are all fine.  I was really scared when it happened since the kids were immediately screaming (of course I am thinking that they are hurt) but luckily they were fine, just a bit scared.  Our little Fusion was totaled and that caused us to be in the market for a new car.  After being in this accident, I decided that I wanted the family in a larger car.  Well, Mama got what she wanted.  She got a brand new mini van!  Yep, they are a Mamas dream car.  If you asked me 5 years ago if I would ever want a mini van, I would have told you that you were crazy.  Well, they just make a Moms life much easier.  Every creature comfort!   We rented one in Kauai recently and I was sold from there on out.  It is a really nice car, I'll take you for a spin in my new ride!

Scene of the accident

Poor car.  It went right under the tall truck in front of us.

It crumpled so much that the insurance company totaled it.

Doesn't look like much from the back?  It felt like a pretty hard hit.

New car!

The kids and their friends

Adrienne had a play date with her friend from around the corner the other day.  They are the same age and pretty darn cute together.  They were sitting at the table and spitting towards the camera (yes, I know.  Spitting sounds really gross but if you were there, you would have thought it was cute.)  There were many little 2 year old skirmishes that I had to break up but you know how it goes with that age...... too funny!

Now Matthew has a new friend too.  She smells like baby powder and does not complain when he bites her.  I gave one of Adrienne's baby dolls to him the other day and since she is pretty dense, he just bites on her little arms and legs.  Oh yeah......Mr. M has a new tooth!  He likes to show it off to his new girlfriend.  My big boy went for his 6 month appointment this week and is a whopping 22lbs. 13ozs.!!!!!!!  I am telling you, this kid is so heavy.  Break my back heavy.

Matty and his hats.

It is funny going from one baby who did not smile very often to a baby that will smile at the wall.  You just look at Matthew and he will smile at you.  We just coincidentally had these pictures of him in hats.  Well, you put a hat on him and he will just smile, why not take a picture?  The boy is just the cutest thing.

We had a holiday block party outside so he needed a warm hat.  Love it!

Every kid that goes to Disneyland needs a pair of ears.

This is my favorite.  It is Adrienne's "Jessie" hat, but Matthew wears it so well.

Roll Tide! And other things...

Tonight was the BCS national championship game and Alabama whooped LSU 21-0.  Mama, Dada and Matthew got in the spirit and dressed the part with their Bama gear but Miss Adrienne wouldn't have it.  Auntie Tricia gave her a Bama cheerleading uniform but she refused to wear it tonight.  Uh oh, maybe she is an LSU fan!

Daddy and me getting ready for the big game!

Daddy kisses.

All decked out.

This weekend we were at Brian and Jenn's house for what we call Kenny Christmas (the name is totally poached from the fam down South.)  The girls had a lot of fun and Dani made them the cutest tutus.  So of course we wanted to get pictures of the girls in them.  Sara and Fiona were so cute and happy...............then there is Adrienne.  She has been such a pleasure lately.  Let's just say we are in the thick of the Terrible Twos.  She wanted nothing to do with her picture taken.

What cute little girls.  Who is the brat on the right?

Nope, Daddy can't make it better either.

She was sure happy hanging with  her "Uncle Guys."  Dave is Adrienne's #1 right now.
